There's this one great Vietnam War film but I can't put my finger on what's it called... Deer Hunter & Taxi Driver my all time favorites they're both untouchable in my opinion. Michael doesnt dislike everyone around him. He just connects with Nick the most because he can be sincere. The other guys are goofs who never take anything seriously. That is a turn off to Michael.

One of the best movies ever. A clip every 4 sec and then it says The Deerhunter lol. Alot of people nowadays need nonstop action. Movies like this and Taxi driver dont appeal to people anymore. Not 1 deer in the trailer ! lol and in case You Forgot im talking about The Deer Hunter. So i must be one of the last people on earth to watch the Deer Hunter. It was OK in it was WAY over long. going for almost 3 hours, a lot of which i thought was taken up with very boring sequences (I thought that Russian wedding was never going to end. As for the Vietnam bits, I can understand why this film has received some criticism. The only Vietnamese men in the movie are bloodthirsty savages who wager on a (fictitious) game in which people commit suicide (and the few Vietnamese women in the movie are prostitutes. I was asking myself 'what's in it for the guys pulling the trigger. I think Michael Cimino went from this movie to making "heaven's gate" which is widely recognized as one of the all time big-budget clunkers in American movie history. But quite frankly i can see the seeds of that in this movie. I think the only reason it got so much recognition in its day was the immediacy of the vietnam war.

The award show back then was so much more real, and genuine now they are too artificial. I love this scene from the Deer Hunter. Everyone in the theatre sang. I fell in love with Chris Walken. What Video. Am I crazy.
